Can I use Samsung's Second screen with a Mac?
Samsung describes Second screen for Windows PCs with Wireless Display only. On a Mac, Wing Display does the job instead.

Picture a desk with a Mac on it, every window piled onto one screen. Next to it lies a Galaxy Tab with a big, bright display, switched off. Samsung's own Second screen feature won't join the two, because it's made for Windows. Here's how a Tab S9, S10, S11 or S12 becomes a real extra display for a Mac.
Samsung's support page for Second screen lists the Galaxy Tab S7, S8, S9 and S10 on One UI 3.1 or later, paired with "select PCs with Wireless Display running at least Windows 10 v.2004". Macs don't appear anywhere on it. Wireless Display is the Windows feature that sends the PC's picture to the tablet, and macOS has no equivalent of it, so a Mac can't simply be pointed at the tablet.
What a Mac needs is an app on each side: one that creates the extra display on the Mac and sends its picture, and one on the tablet that shows it. That is what Wing Display is.
Wing Display uses Android's standard display and pen input, nothing tied to one model, so the four recent generations behave the same way:
Screen size is where they differ. The Tab S11 Ultra's display measures 14.6 inches, larger than a 13-inch MacBook Air's. You choose the tablet's resolution in System Settings → Displays, so an Ultra gives you room for a whole second app.
Download Wing Display for Mac, which is free, allow Screen Recording, then click Start in the menu bar.
On your Galaxy Tab, install the Android tablet app from Google Play.
Open the app on the same Wi-Fi as your Mac, tap Connect, and click Allow on your Mac.
Set up your tablet as a second Mac screen covers every permission, and troubleshooting helps when the tablet doesn't find your Mac.
With Pro, the S Pen reaches your Mac as a pen, not a mouse. Pressure and tilt travel with each point, hovering moves the pointer without clicking, the side button right-clicks, and a palm resting on the glass is ignored while the pen is near. Turn your tablet and pen into a pen display for your Mac explains what that's good for.
Pro also makes the screen a touch surface for your Mac, and connects over a USB data cable where Wi-Fi is busy. The cable needs USB debugging switched on once, under Developer options; on a Galaxy Tab you reveal those by tapping Build number seven times in Settings → About tablet → Software information. Connect by USB cable has the rest.
The second screen over Wi-Fi or your tablet's hotspot is part of the free plan. Pro adds touch, the pen and the USB connection for $2.99 a month or $24.99 a year in US dollars, bought in the tablet app through Google Play, and first-time subscribers get 14 days free. Compare the plans.

No. Wing Display is its own app on the tablet and doesn't use DeX or any other Samsung software.
Download Wing Display for Mac, then install the Android tablet app on your Galaxy Tab. Not on a Galaxy? Using any Android tablet as a second monitor covers the other makers.
