Descriptions

Short

Wing Display turns the Android tablet you already own into a second screen for your Mac.

Long

Wing Display turns the Android tablet you already own into a second display for your Mac. It extends the Mac's desktop onto the tablet: drag windows across, keep notes or a chat beside your work, or park a reference document on the second screen. It is a real extra display, so you arrange it and choose its resolution in System Settings on the Mac, like any other monitor.

The tablet finds the Mac on the same Wi-Fi by itself, with no IP addresses to type, and it works over the tablet's own hotspot when a network keeps devices apart. The picture travels directly between the two devices and is encrypted end to end. It never passes through a server. There is no account, no sign-up, no ads and no analytics.

The second screen is free to use. Pro, a subscription bought in the tablet app through Google Play, adds touch control of the Mac, the S Pen with pressure, tilt and hover, palm rejection, and a USB connection for busy or locked-down networks.

Company

Wing Display is made by Deeb Labs, the studio name of Magyarországon Tanulni Kft., in Budapest.

Free and Pro

Free

$0, free to use

The Mac app, and the second screen on the tablet, wireless over Wi-Fi or the tablet's hotspot. Not a trial.

Pro

$2.99/month or $24.99/year

Touch, the S Pen with pressure, tilt and hover, palm rejection, and a USB connection, which needs a data cable and USB debugging switched on once.

Prices are in US dollars; Google Play shows the local price. Pro is bought in the tablet app through Google Play, never on this site, with 14 days free for first-time subscribers. It renews automatically until you cancel in Google Play › Subscriptions, and cancelling keeps the free second screen.
